DRT (Derryfield Repertory Theatre) Summer Camp counselors are comprised of New England's most talented and enthusiastic performers. DRT is seeking motivated young adults that enjoy teaching children and sharing their passion for the performing arts for their 2020 Summer season!

Staff members will work with campers ages 8-16, however when staff members apply they may request to work with a certain age group for show production.

Camp Counselor Position (18+)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Camp Shows - Work with a production team to stage a 30 – 45 minute musical each session

Prepare for show with team
Hold auditions & cast the show
Time manage rehearsals
Design and create sets, props & costumes
Tech the show

Workshops – Create and facilitate specialty classes for campers

Two workshops a session, each three days
Teach campers any subject from singing, acting, dancing, auditioning, magic, improv, technical theatre to theatre design & more!

2020 SUMMER CAMP SCHEDULE

Camp Prep Week: June 29 – July 3

Session 1: July 6 – 17
Monday – Friday | 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.*
A & B Performance: Thursday July 16, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.
C & D Performance: Friday July 17, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.

Session 2: July 20 – July 31
Monday – Friday | 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.*
A & B Performance: Thursday July 30, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.
C & D Performance: Friday July 31, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.

*8:30-4:00 with before and after camp duties
Prepare to stay after camp to prepare costumes, sets, props, etc.

– 9:00 Games on the field
9:00 – 9:30 Finale Dance Practice
9:30 – 10:45 Rehearsal
10:45 – 11:00 Snack
11:00 – 11:30 11:00 Show (Talent Show)
11:30 – 12:30 Rehearsal
1:00 – 1:30 Outdoor Games
1:30 – 1:40 Freeze pops!
1:40 – 2:30 Workshops
2:30 – 3:00 Improv & Color Points

STARTING PAY:
$1,900
Pay differs depending on the amount of time a counselor has been with the company

DRT Teen Position (High School seniors)

DRT offers a position for those who are not quite camper age and not quite counselor age. We’re bringing back DRT Teens for those high school seniors that are not in college yet, but still want to help out on staff at DRT. This un-paid volunteer position includes assisting counselors with cast shows, workshops, and day to day DRT fun! This position is a great resume builder to teenagers approaching college, and can count toward required service hours. We’re looking for hard working, passionate role models for our campers to aspire to.
